In this series I am visiting various bus stations from around the Country including locally such as Liverpool, we have two Bus Stations the first being Queen Square & The Second being Liverpool One. This time I spent some time whilst in Liverpool Documenting various buses coming out of the Bus Station and also near by with the Main Street that runs down to the Station past Liverpool Central.

BV17 CGY – 4840

A Common sight here in Liverpool are these Wright Gemini 3’s Volvo B5TL in the Street Deck body, this example is from 2017 running on the 82 to Speke. Let’s move onto Stagecoach and a recent addition being these Enviro 400 from Portsmouth they’re Registered GX10, I was a tad confused to see buses from 2010 considering Stagecoach have buses from the mid 2010s to the late 2010s in the form of Enviro 400 MMCs.

I have really enjoyed documenting the different buses coming in and out of various bus stations I have visited, I am hoping to visit Preston Bus Station in the next few weeks. From Stagecoach & Arriva, Liverpool One also gets Flix Bus & National Express Coaches to various places like Leeds, Manchester & York! This fine example from March 2024 of a Yutong Coach.

GX10 HBC – 15594
YD24 EUR – FLIXBUS

Another new feature recently introduced were the brand new ADL Enviro 200 MMCs introduced in 2024 operated by Arriva on behalf of the Liverpool City Region. This is part of a wider plan to bring buses back into public control which would be really good for the City and the wider area mean better & more frequent buses. That’s the plan for the Metro Mayor and the wider Liverpool City Council.

YY74 RXV – 2785

Seen above is this Enviro 200 MMC heading for Halewood on the 75 in the new Metro livery however the bus is owned and operated by Arriva but funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority which is a rather big mouthful of words to say. In 2026/27 they will be renaming Mersey Travel to Transport for the Liverpool City Region, I think I talked about this in a previous post and mentioned that it was just too long to remember.

You can also catch the 500 Airport service operated by Arriva North West, they use a batch of Wright Gemini 2 VDL DB300 Chassis from 2011 registered MX61. I have rode this bus once before from Brunswick Station and I have always had a soft spot for these as they’re similar to that of the Wright Puslar 2! Speaking of them, I did also manage to capture a not so amazing photo of Arriva’s Pride example!

MX61 AYC – 4444
YJ61 EFG – 3206

For one final example to share with you from Liverpool One Bus Station has to be the Classic Enviro 400 MMC from Stagecoach Guilmoss as you would have seen in my previous post when I visited QSBS. These are a common seen as with the Street Deck Hybrid buses by Arriva & Enviro 400s from 2015. Most of these buses run on the 86/86A 86C, 75, 82 and 82A/B

SN16 OTG – 10571

And lets end this post there, albeit but a brief visit to Liverpool One Bus Station I am hoping to visit Preston and maybe some when I am up in Redcar if I can find any that are in Newcastle or even in Darlington for example. Do let me know what other bus stations you would like me to visit and share here on my blog in the comments below.
