Hello finally about time I wrote about my trip to Manchester Piccadilly Gardens Interchange where you have plenty of buses operating in the Bee Network Livery and occasionally the odd Stagecoach Liveried Enviro 400s. The majority of buses in Manchester now are in Bee Network Yellow which for me just seems a little bland. Unlike the new livery by the Liverpool City Region.

As you can see above, the majority of New Buses were painted in the new Bee Network livery whilst a number of buses pre Bee Network have yet to be painted up into the Yellow livery. This is basically Manchester’s take on London’s style of transport where all the Buses in London are Red the Majority of Buses in Manchester are Yellow and currently being repainted into the Bee Network livery.
I love Piccadilly Gardens Interchange as you also have the Metrolink running along side Buses with the Piccadilly Gardens tram stop right next to the Bus Interchange. I am planning to do all the Metrolink Stops in the near future which I will be doing as a Blog Post rather than as a video. But for now let’s continue on.

Whilst I was here I took some time photographing the Trams near the Junction between St Peter’s Sq, Market Street and Piccadilly Gardens where the trams head towards Manchester Piccadilly, this is the one of many Major cities in the UK to not have an Underground System like that in London or even in Liverpool and Glasgow with the Infamous Glasgow Subway.
It does feel nice to be back writing again on this Blog, I would like to know if you would like other posts to be shared from my travels, like for example doing a Cheshire Day Ranger, Manchester Day Ranger or just exploring the Metrolink. Manchester has a LOT of Double Decker Buses mostly in the form of Streetdecks (Electroliners), Enviro 400’s and the odd MCV Evocity I believe also feature on the Cities streets.

I must admit I rather dislike the new design of the Wright Streetdeck, just like the original design from the early 2020’s, It took a while for it to grow on me, I like that it is a minimal design compared to say the new Enviro 400 EV’s! However I have yet to try those out and I do believe that Liverpool are due to get some for the new LCR Network sometime in 2026. I look forward to documenting on those when they eventually enter service.
This blog series has been rather fun for me, getting to see various different buses, companies and other routes I don’t normally get to see as I live on the Wirral, we only really have one major Bus Station in Birkenhead with others dotted around such as Woodside & Heswall bus stations. Ellesmere Port & Chester both have Bus Stations too of which I plan to share on here.

I do hope to explore more of the Bus Stations around Manchester, the next one I have visited was Shudehill Bus Station as that was rather close to Manchester Victoria Station. There is also a Tram interchange there as well like at Piccadilly Gardens. Let me know if you would like to see that as I am planning to share it in the next few days. I also have another post from St Helen’s Temp bus stations and I plan to visit the NEW one when it eventually opens.

Above is probably one of my favourite photos I took on that day when I was in Manchester having finished a trip by BUS from Liverpool to Manchester via Warrington. I do rather like those Enviro 400 Hybrids as they are from the earlier version that retained the Standard lights from Alexander Dennis and they also reminded me of the Buses that feature down in London too.
That is it for this post, I really hope that you enjoyed reading it and seeing some of the various buses that were coming in and out of Manchester Piccadilly Gardens Bus Interchange. I do plan to revive this series with a number of Posts coming in the near Future along with the all Tram Stops challenge & my new blog focusing on Every Station. Do please consider Subscribing let me know if you’ve ever used the station in the comments below too.
