In this post I finally talk about my time visiting Shudehill Interchange in Manchester, not too far from Piccadilly Gardens but another Bus Station ticked off none the less. It feels good to be back writing about my adventures and sharing photos from those tris, I didn’t spend too long here as I was heading to Manchester Victoria for a train back to Liverpool.

One thing that I rather like about this bus station how it integrates with the Trams heading into Victoria Station & onward to places like Bury, Ashton & Rochdale. I also hope to return to Rochdale town centre to get photo’s of the Bus Station there. Only downside now with buses in Manchester it’s all YELLOW! Think Coldplay.

Whilst here it was nice to see some Trams coming in and out at Shudehill Tram Stop on the Metrolink, I really need to get back out on some buses and also visit more bus stations for this series. As well as my visiting every station series I am also trying to visit as many Bus Stations / Interchanges, if you haven’t seen any of the other posts do please check it out I would greatly appreciate it.

The main vehicles I noticed coming in and out of Shudehill Interchnge were Enviro 400’s and Wright Streetdecks as well as the odd Gemini 2 from Go Ahead on the Witches Way however I wasn’t able to grab any shots. I found it quite awkward to take photos here with the layout of the station in two half’s one lane going around a concourse with entry and exits either side.

Sadly I didn’t take too many photos here as I was rather short on time with me catching a train back to Liverpool, however I do plan to come back here in the future. I also rather enjoyed my time at Manchester Piccadilly Gardens which is again another Interchange with Buses & Trams linking together. I really like that about the Tram network in Manchester how well it is integrated with other transport systems.

The next bus stations / area I plan to write about will be from Cardiff back in August this summer I visited Cardiff for the very first time and I spent sometime photographing buses in and out of the Bus Station in Cardiff town centre. I rather liked the colours of the buses, from Orange, Green & Red!

Do you have a favourite Bus Station / Interchange where you enjoy spending time taking photos or just admiring the amount of buses coming in out of them. I do enjoy photographing buses if you would like to check out my Flickr feel free to do so, just click here! You can find some of my photos from trips being shared there over the coming days & weeks.

Ah, here’s the Shudehill blog post! Good stuff. As I said, my favoured Manchester interchange and better-placed for the city centre in my opinion than Piccadilly Gardens.
