Today I’m on my adventure to visit every station in the UK and I’m back on Northern trains. My day begins at Liverpool Lime Street and I’m heading to Eccleston Park. I really enjoy this line with its interesting stations and quirky class 323s and 331s.

Arriving at Eccleston Park Station, I relish my journey from Lime Street on a class 331 bound for Wigan North Western. The station is a lovely place, especially in autumn. The trees lining the line are adorned with leaves and the ground is carpeted in them, creating a truly beautiful scene.
Fortunately, I don’t have much time to wait for my next train to Prescot station, the home of Shakespeare. Prescot itself is a lovely station and has recently installed lifts to make it fully accessible, unlike Eccleston Park and Thatto Heath which only use ramps.

Leaving Thatto Heath, I decided to catch the bus to St Helens Central. However, it was running over 15 minutes late. Eventually, I managed to catch the 33, one of my favourite buses a Wright Pulsar 2. It swiftly took me to St Helens town centre. From there, I had to walk to St Helens Central itself.
St Helens Central boasts a rich history, spanning transport and the invention of glass. During the Industrial Revolution in the 1800s, it housed numerous factories producing glass for the entire UK and possibly even the world. Furthermore, it’s home to one of the oldest canals in the world. Sadly the canal is not really used any more.

Leaving St Helens Central, I board another 323 heading to Bryn. This marks my first time entering Greater Manchester in this series. I quite like Bryn as the first station beyond Merseyside’s boundary, heading towards Wigan North Western. It’s both a terminus and a through station!
Leaving Bryn, I head to our penultimate station, Garswood. It marks the boundary between Merseyside and Greater Manchester, and is the starting point for Wigan. Garswood is a simple two-platform station, nothing special, but it boasts a charming old waiting room and a new station building replacing the old one.

Finally, I’m heading to Wigan North Western, the end of this adventure. I’ll be making my way back to Liverpool while writing this on a Class 323. It’s amazing how technology has advanced these days; I can now write blog posts on the go while I’m at the stations!
I had planned to visit stations on the Wigan – Headbolt Lane branch today but I won’t be able to. My phone is currently only at 27% battery so I’ll head home to charge it up. I’ll also share a blog post about the new station opened on Sunday with Greater Anglia!

Finally arriving at my last station Wigan North Western, I’ll be back tomorrow. I’ll be visiting stations on the line from Wigan Wallgate to Headbolt Lane and Liverpool Central to catch up on my photos from the New Brighton and West Kirby trip I did a couple of weeks ago.
I genuinely hope you’re enjoying these posts as much as I’m enjoying writing about my station visits rather than filming. Some of the comments I’ve received have been a refreshing change. When I posted these on YouTube I faced countless hateful comments but here I get decent people!

Thank you once again for joining me on this adventure. I’m excited to share my next post between Wigan Wallgate, Headbolt Lane and Liverpool Central. I look forward to reading your comments and responding.
