Hello, we’re back out again, ticking off plenty more stations in London. This time, we’re heading towards Shepperton and just outside the London boundary. This meant I had to buy a single ticket between Hampton and Shepperton to avoid getting fined and to have a ticket for those stations. I was using my Oyster Card as far as Hampton station.
Our first stop from Wimbledon is Kingston station, which is quite intriguing for me as I’ve never visited any of the stations towards Shepperton. From there, we walked to Norbiton, as it’s a short stroll between the two stations, crossing the river as well. My friend David Jones, who visited every station in 2024, joined me too.

From Norbiton station, we then made our way up the line towards Teddington Station, from there we headed back down again towards Hampton Wick meaning that I have now visited all three Hampton Stations including Hampton Court & Hampton on the line down to Sheperton it’s self. It was a wonderful trip out visiting some new stations with one of my closest friends.
From Hampton Wick, we made our way firmly onto the branch line towards Shepperton. However, I didn’t plan my trip very well because I didn’t realise that Upper Halliford station only has an hourly service. Despite this, I managed to visit every station on the branch in the end.

We then made our way to Hampton station, marking our third and final stop with “Hampton” in its name. From there, we travelled to Fulwell Station. The line is a bit tricky because some services don’t go to Wimbledon; instead, they take a short curve of track from Fulwell towards Strawberry Hill and Richmond. However, I stayed on the branch towards Shepperton.

From Fulwell Station I headed up to Sunbury, one thing I noticed about the stations on the line is how long the platforms are to accommodate ten coaches and also the brand new Class 701 trains which I got to ride on, I found them rather comfortable, however it will be sad to see the old Class 455s depart from these brach lines, like on Chessington South & Hampton Court lines too.
I walked between Sunbury and Upper Halliford stations, but unfortunately, I missed the train to Shepperton. As a result, I had to wait for the train to Kempton Park station before finally reaching Shepperton station. Despite the delay, I had a lovely trip visiting these wonderful stations and am very excited to explore more of London.

Finally, we’re heading to Shepperton, the end of the line. This has been such a fun series focusing on some London stations. In my next blog, I will be heading to Epsom Downs station and ticking off a bunch of stations from London Victoria. I originally covered stations between Victoria via Thornton Heath station, but I chose to visit a few stations I haven’t been to before, like Mitcham Junction, where the trams meet trains!
It seems I don’t have any photos of Sheperton Station. However, I have completed the line, and Sheperton Station is the 152nd out of 2,589 railway stations I have visited in the United Kingdom. I appreciate all of you who have been reading and commenting on my blog series. We’re getting ever closer to 20 subscribers too! I am also nearing 200 stations visited. If you’re interested in a post focusing on my favourite, let me know.
