Starting at Carshalton Beeches, rather than Sutton Station as I did in a previous post, we head to our first station, Waddon. From Waddon, we proceed to Wallington Station before making our way to West Croydon. At Wallington, I took the 410 bus to Crystal Palace, alighting at West Croydon Bus Interchange.

I took the 410 bus from Wallington Station to West Croydon to save time and extend the day a bit. I enjoy taking buses between stations I’m visiting, such as between Hamilton Square and Bebington on the Merseyrail Wirral Line towards Chester. This route is also operated by the 410 and run by Arriva.
I travelled from West Croydon station to Streatham Common station, then walked towards Thornton Heath station. The name of this station reminds me of Thatto Heath on the line from Huyton to Wigan North Western, operated by Northern Trains. If you’re interested in reading more about it, you can do so here.

I made my way to Thornton Heath Station, which would be my penultimate stop before Norbury Station. As I’ve always said, I have a fondness for the stations in and around London; they feel so special and lovely to explore. The southern stations all share a very similar feel, with brick buildings on the platforms and canopies as well.

And finally heading to Sutton from Thornton Heath station it was starting to go dark at this point. I also chose to exit the station at Sutton so I could grab a bite to eat from the nearby Tesco, I usually get a Chicken and Bacon Sandwhich in my meal deals what do you like? I would love to know. I rather like these Southern stations they all have a similar design.
Annoyingly, I don’t seem to have a photo from Selhurst Station, which was my 173rd station out of 2,589 railway stations currently in operation in the United Kingdom. This is the final post in my London mini-series; we will now return to regular territory, visiting stations up to Heysham Port and Windermere in Lancaster.
