In this next Visiting Every Station in the United Kingdom adventure, I’m now ticking off stations between Huyton and Wigan North Western. As I mentioned in my previous post, I skipped Huyton Station because I planned to include it in this blog post. It feels great to be back writing and sharing my adventures with you all. My aim is to catch up with my stations and show you where I’ve already been. From Huyton, I took my first train towards Eccleston Park before heading down the line to Prescot.

From Prescot I then make my way up to Garswood Station, this is a rather quint station and feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, however it’s still a reasonably sized town. When I visited the station It’s always dead quiet and barely any passengers around which makes it for an interesting wait. From Garswood to Thatto Heath, I rather like Thatto Heath station and the stations on this line in particular, from thatto heath I took a Bus to my next station of St Helens.

From Thatto Heath, I took the train to my next station, Bryn, in Greater Manchester. As I’ve mentioned before, I quite like this line and enjoy visiting it every time I’m out on the trains. From Bryn Station, we then made our way to our penultimate station, St Helens Central, which is the other St Helens station besides St Helens Junction on the mainline through to Manchester. You can catch trains from here to Glasgow Central with Transpennine Express, which is rather interesting.

From St Helen’s Station, I make my way up the line once again, for the final time in this post, towards Wigan North Western, where the train terminates. On the day I did this, I took a TPE train to Wigan to make it slightly more interesting, as I was filming every station over on YouTube. However, I much prefer writing about my adventures by train. Hopefully, this coming Friday (3rd April), I shall be out doing a Cheshire or Lancashire Day Ranger with my new partner, which I am very much looking forward to.

Finally arriving at our last station of the day, Wigan North Western, my next adventure will take me back to the Merseyrail network, visiting stations from Hooton to Helsby via Ellesmere Port. I will be stopping at Ince & Elton, the least used station in Cheshire. After that, I’ll return to the mainline from Liverpool Lime Street through Warrington to Manchester Oxford, stopping at stations like Irlam and Fluxton. Please consider subscribing.
It’s wonderful to be back doing these station posts again. I truly hope you’re enjoying them as much as I enjoy writing about my trips and the stations I’ve visited. I apologise for deleting everything again, but this time I’m committed to the challenge and will be sharing them here on the blog. I also hope you enjoy the photos I’ve taken of the trains and stations I’ve visited or ridden on.
